Judge Andrea Rodríguez Mentasty of the San Isidro Court of Guarantees N° 3 has ruled to pre-trial detention for the media personality Morena Rial in the case of various house robberies she committed earlier this year in the northern and western zones of Greater Buenos Aires. Her lawyer, Alejandro Cipolla, has appealed the ruling.
In recent hours, the magistrate rejected the house arrest requested by Morena's defense and, in turn, ordered pre-trial detention in the case where she is accused of the crime of aggravated robbery, doubly so for its commission in a populated area and as part of a group, and for having been committed by breaking and entering, in three separate incidents.
In the resolution, Mentasty stated that it is notorious the "lack of commitment and responsibility" of the celebrity for "using her baby to make her criminal behaviors go unnoticed".
In the same scenario, she added the possibility of obstruction of the investigation and flight. This could be related to the fact that Morena's parole was revoked for failing to comply with the measures stipulated.
In this way, the media personality will remain detained at the Penitentiary Unit N° 51 in Magdalena, although, as sources close to the case confirmed to the Noticias Argentinas agency, her lawyer and friend, Alejandro Cipolla, has already appealed the ruling.
